A striking example of late-modern lighting design, the Feather floor lamp by Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs blends sculptural form with ingenious engineering. Known for his work as an architectural and industrial designer, Sonneman created some of the most iconic lighting designs of the 20th century, and this piece reflects his signature ability to merge technical innovation with bold visual presence.
The lamp features two sleek, wing-like arms that articulate upward or downward and rotate a full 360 degrees thanks to its cleverly engineered design that eliminates visible wiring. Each halogen light includes dual switches for independent on/off control as well as high and low brightness settings, offering both functional versatility and dramatic styling.
The original label remains intact on the underside of the base, adding collectible authenticity and confirming its designer provenance.
Dimensions:
36ʺ W (arms) × 9ʺ D × 54ʺ H
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with minimal wear to the base and arms. Halogen bulbs and switches function properly. The top arm shows slight separation where the arm meets the lamp head; this is minor, does not affect structural integrity, and is barely noticeable.
